Abstract
States as subjects of international law have the ability to carry out relationships in various forms of international community life. International relations are very necessary for a country in order to interact with other countries. In this case, countries establish and develop relations with other countries, realized by exchanging diplomatic missions based on the principle of equal rights and peace between countries as explained in Article 1 paragraph (2) of the UN Charter and also in the preamble to the 1961 Vienna Convention concerning Diplomatic Relations. However, in its implementation there are still many forms of violations that can harm other countries. The aim of the research is to determine the form of protection provided by the receiving country to the sending country's diplomatic representatives in carrying out their diplomatic duties and missions and to determine the application of sanctions and settlement of cases against diplomatic officials who abuse diplomatic immunity and privileges. Conclusion, The personal protection of diplomatic officials or the personal immunity of diplomatic officials is regulated in the 1961 Vienna Convention that diplomatic officials cannot be disturbed, diplomatic officials cannot be held accountable in any form, whether detention or arrest.
